AREA MANAGER EXPORT SALES

On behalf of one of the largest international confectionery companies, we are looking for an Area Manager Export Sales to join the Western Europe Partner Markets team based in Bologna.

Your Responsibilities
As Area Manager Export Sales, you will manage a group of Partner Markets, with a strong focus on France, the most strategic market in the region.

  • Manage country strategy and ensure achievement of volume, revenue and margin targets.
  • Work closely with distributors: set annual objectives, align budgets and monitor execution.
  • Lead commercial activities including assortment, distribution, pricing, promotions and brand activation.
  • Support the onboarding and development of new distributors, especially in Spain and the Nordics.
  • Prepare sales plans, forecasts and monthly business reviews.
  • Conduct regular store checks to assess pricing, visibility and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate daily with internal teams (Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance).
  • Travel regularly to markets — especially France once per month.


Your Profile
Experience

  • 2–3 years of experience in Export Sales roles (Export Area Manager, Export Sales, International Sales).
  • Background in Food FMCG, ideally biscuits, confectionery or sweet snacks.

Languages

  • Fluent French (mandatory; ideally native-level or having lived/studied in France).
  • Excellent English required.
  • Italian is a plus, not mandatory.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Excel proficiency.
  • Solid understanding of commercial and financial levers (P&L, contribution margin).
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills.

Soft Skills

  • Team player with strong communication skills.
  • Outgoing, proactive and hands-on.
  • Autonomous, structured and results-oriented.
  • Comfortable working in an international, multicultural environment.


Location: Bologna, Italy
Travel: up to 25–30% (mainly France)
